From IM......
With race day approaching, the IRONMAN 70.3 and Ironman Australia Port Macquarie team wanted to provide an update on this year’s course. We had been working towards not being able to use the iconic Port Macquarie breakwall in 2024 as part of the run course, with construction works expected to be underway. However, those works have been delayed with the breakwall to still be available in May. The team has made the decision to tweak this year’s run course to include the breakwall as we know it’s a favourite part of the event for so many athletes.
As well as using the breakwall this year athletes will also make use of the new path through Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park, with the run heading down a shorter section of Settlement Point Road."

That out and back section at town beach will get interesting when the sun goes down. Doesn't look like a very wide path
The descent is milder though, which will help on laps 3 and 4

I thought the same thing about that narrow path and the rough ground either side with opportunities for a rolled ankle.
I would put the u-turn at the kiosk where its very wide and just send us a little further into Settlement Point to make up the distance.
