Back on the old site we had a thread about running 100 miles in 24hrs. I had my first go at this at a 24hr race called Endure 24 back in July. It was loops of an 8km trail with one significant hill and the rest was flat or undulating.
We hired a motorhome and made a family adventure of it. Rather than re type everything, I'll link what I posted on TTUK.

I’ve always thought I wouldn’t do a race whereby I couldn’t finish on the same day I started - I guess if I started at 0001 I could theoretically get 24hrs 😄. Actually trying to do it is another thing - well done on having a go, 70 miles is still one heck of a way to go!

Cheers Truck, it was a great event. Yeah, it would pretty hard for most of us to finish on the same day, even starting at midnight. Some of these races start very early in the morning ( like Western States), some in the afternoon (UTMB).
I have a 110km with 3500 mtrs vert coming up on Oct 1st. It starts at 8.00pm on a Friday and has a 25hr cut off, so if you're slower than 21hrs (which I suspect I will be), you'll have 2 lots of darkness to deal with.
A race I was entered in this year but have deferred to next year called The Plague, is 64miles in Cornwall and starts at 12.05am, could be interesting!

Hi guys - I once ran 200km in 24 hours (23.5 actually), but is wasn't on trail - it was like... 600 laps around a 330-ish metre footy oval track. Does that count?

Wow, you're a blast from the past Peter! Of course it counts! I'm entered in Endure 24 again this year in June. We'e also hired the motorhome again. But before that, there is a little matter of Thames Path 100miler in May to take care of!

I've pulled out of my 100 milers this year, too many injuries and I'm not ready and likely won't be. So my focus now is on Endure24, which is continuous loops of an 8km circuit. Last year I managed 70 miles in 19hrs on my feet, hoping for more this year. Race is on June 18th.
After that it will be the 64mile Plague Race in Cornwall on July 16th. A finish in that will qualify me for Arc of Attrition 100 next January in Cornwall.

Well done mate. Love the finish photo, some real emotion there. Cheers Roxii, the whole last lap was quite emotional as I forced myself out there but held it together until the massive cheers started coming 200 mtrs from the end. I don't even think it was emotion like you get an IM finish because that has an end point. I could have finished this at any lap really. I think I was emotional knowing that the pain in my body will stop!

This is the photo I like! Why am I doing this again?
Well done FP, 112km is a red hot crack at it.ATM, I just have no desire to train hard or go long.

Cheers Slowman. That was from last year, but you are right about what I was thinking! Went one lap better this year for 75miles.
I have 3 races left this year.
52km across Dartmoor on Sept 10th
110km North Coast across Exmoor that starts at 8pm on Oct 7th
50 mile (5 x 10 loops) of mud and hills at Wendover Woods, Bucks on Nov 7th.
The big one is Arc of Attrition 100 miler in Cornwall on Jan 27th. That will involve running in two nights!
