I know we all started this year with big plans and goals for racing, training and life in general. But what has had to changed since we entered this new world of COVID-19?

Remove all swimming goals
Taking it as a positive - been going with too many twinges and aches for too long. So the goal is just to maintain fitness while working on the body, recovery and core. Got one race planned for August, will do that if possible but if not, no races this year at all

No training goals at the start of the year. Which was weird to be honest.
Health. That's a key focus in our house at the moment. Not doing too much too often. Move everyday and eat well and sleep as much as possible.*
*except for the odd beer/pretzel and movie night.... LOL

Today (19th) was meant to be the marathon I was training for. I was on track for sub 3.45 but I guess we'll never know now. It was going be my last road race before the ultra training/season started. I had a very pedestrian 43.30 10km race earlier in the year. But as today wore on, I wasn't thinking about my race, I was thinking about my Dad, who died 6yrs ago today. When this is all over, I'm still going to train a lot, especially running but I'm less interested in placings now, than I am in adventures, especially family one. More destination stuff, more time smelling the roses and much more time surfing. In terms of training now, not much has changed really, except all my runs are short, nothing over 15km and we are only allowed to exercise outdoors once a day, so quite often I'm Zwifting, then sacrificing my own run so that I can run with Little One. She's up to 8km now. (70 mins, but's who's counting )

Swimming(when the pool reopens) is for relaxation and shoulder health. I'm only jogging to help out a mate who's taken up Mui Thai and she needs to work on her cardio. Thanks for sharing re your Dad ✌️😕
