Guys (in particular) and Girls Don't try to be the hero when it comes to your health. I'd been struggling with some minor pain across my midriff for a couple of weeks which I thought was just a stomach strain. Then it turned into 24 hours of absolute agony that felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach by a horse. Initial diagnosis by my GP (based on my verbal evidence over the phone cause I couldn't actually get to the clinic) was a stomach virus and/or ulcer. More tests and an ultrasound later and the cause was updated to gall bladder stones. Went into hospital yesterday to get it removed. Turns out it wasn't gall bladder stones but rather an infected abscess in my gall bladder which the surgeon tells me I was lucky to have removed when I did. Home now and on the road to recovery. So whether it be skin cancer checks, colon cancer check (for those over 50) or even a just yearly physical, get checked out. It might just save your life. Still deciding whether having 1/2 my chest hair shaved off for the procedure is a good look.....somehow I suspect not.
