What would you recommend? A new one that costs say $3-4k or a second hand commercial grade one from a gym for the same price?

I've done okay with higher end ones just under the commercial level on ebay / gumtree. On my second one at present, both I've paid $400 (they would have been around $2-3K brand new), both have come from people that bought new ones, and they sat there for 12 months before they decided to declutter. First one I got 8 years out of (almost daily use - I usually get on it late at night when watching tv to keep moving at a minimum), Second one is coming up to 7 years and hoping it will get me through this year. Reality is however you are unlikely to see many treadmills going second hand at present as most will be getting the dust taken off them. Think the biggest thing if you are looking is to get as high HP in the motor as possible, and highest run speed and size of the deck.
I'm building a new shed later this year which will become partly new home gym, my plan is to go one of the $3-4K models from Rebel or similar as a new one treadmill. I considered both but end of the day would prefer to deal with a shopfront and be able to pick it up saving me on delivery
Maintenance is essential too - most shops sell a silicone spray for the deck and will charge over $20 a spray pack for these - you get the same thing from Mitre 10 for $8 a pack. I apply this everytime I go to use it and find it helps the longevity
