I'm not a fan of the cold and the swim in May 2015 (after 3 weeks of heavy rain) was cold enough, especially on the other side of the weir.
I've been looking on the BOM website for river temperature data but cannot seem to find anything. Do we know what the temperature range may be come September?
From reading the TA handbook, my understanding is, in a wetsuit swim you can cover your feet also, but not the hands.
I'd be interested in people's experiences and/or recommendations with neoprene caps and boots/socks/whatever they are.

Swim will be fresh, but I would imagine it would be 16-17degrees which is very doable without booties / gloves (maybe a neoprene cap would be useful)
I did Alpe d'huez triathlon and the water supposedly was 14 degrees, coming from Melbourne I reckon it was closer to 12 degrees. Took about 5 minutes of swimming before you could breathe normally, so I think a balmy temperature off 16-17 will be ok.

Did Triman in Torquay in April? 2011 iirc water temp was 14°C and a sleeved wetsuit was good. no gloves/hat/booties, took half the swim to have the hands warmed up. (Being that I am now in a sleeveless wetsuit, maybe I should think about bringing my sleeved suit out of retirement(My parent's closet, it lives in Torquay now) - just for this ace, hopefully I can lose enough weight to fit back in it)
