Bit harsh basing that assessment purely on the TV viewership numbers considering the timeslot and that 15 of the 15 shows above it were either Olympics coverage or news.
But if you based that assessment on the fact that its become as boring as batcrap and not worth watching then I totally agree with you. Rugby League probably isn't that far away from sharing the same fate.

The diff with league is that queensland have no other interests.
Same with nz and Union. They have nothing else in life.

I used to take a passing interest in club ruby back in the glory days. Then the super 8s started and I was getting hooked. It was exciting, flowing, passing, running rugby. Then it seemed the statisticians and theorists hit hold of the play book and turned it into % rugby where kicking was the new passing and penalty goals were the new tries. Became like watching professional forcing back (for the nsw audience) or kick it kick (for the vics) Now all the Aus teams are crap anyway so even the rusted on supporters are finding it tough to stay enthusiastic. If there was nothing else on tv I’d watch but wouldn’t care who won.

Another reason - Raelene Castle. She did to RU the same as she did to the Bulldogs NRL Club. I met her once at a Bulldogs function and I can tell you she is one of the rudest people I have ever met.
