It's been a bit of a..., well f*ck me, I don't know what. All I can say it's been a "C' of a few months. Not the word you are thinking, but that terrible word called cancer. This has been my last 2 months in sequence:-
* One of the blokes I used to play golf with passed away from stomach cancer * One of the blokes that regularly played in the group in front of me passed away from cancer - he was supposed to live for another year * My old neighbor and friend of 35 odd years has have his cancer come back aggressively * My cousin who had breast cancer has now been diagnosed with cervical cancer * Her twin sister (my other cousin) now has breast cancer * One of Pam Green's (Mrs Chat) friends who we sat with at her 80th birthday about 7 weeks ago, passed away earlier this week.
and...
* My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 weeks ago. Operation was successful 10 days ago. She is about to embark on some radiotherapy.
Mmmm.... then again, I might change that "C" word for some other more appropriate word.
Stay safe everyone

I can relate Flannie. A few years ago, six of my friends/workmates passed in a period of six months. One of them, the big 'C's was a crocodile up north. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to your better half.

Yep Cancer is a bitch. All you can do is keep being positive, look after yourself as best you can and hope you get lucky. My wife had it and we were extremely lucky. But it makes you question so much and think of all the what if’s in a very short space of time. Good luck to you both Mick. My sister knows your Mrs too so I’m sure she is sending best wishes as well.

Happy for you Roxii. Unfortunately my wife had an unlucky cancer as her Oncologist called it... 5th anniversary of her passing was just a fortnight ago which sounds like ages but still feels like yesterday. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Yes mate, cant imagine what you must still be going through. One of my pet hates is when people talk about "fighting cancer" and saying that "you are tough you can beat this". I'm pretty sure everyone wants to beat cancer and fight as best they can, some just get luckier than others.

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! I thought of you situation Martin when my wife was diagnosed. There's so much that goes through your head at the time. After our visit today, she is having radiotherapy for 1 - 3 weeks, starting in a week. Her prognosis is very good. Still, it does way heavily on her. We just work hard at it and try and laugh a lot.
