Why is everything have to be so secret that it has to wait for a group of people to have a press conference to announce stuff that could be announced via email/twitter/social media/carrier pidgin hours earlier?
You just can't convince me that with a daily cutoff of 8pm, it takes 14+ hours to collate the numbers (which are probably in a centralised computer system somewhere) and rehearse the stories so that they're all singing from the same song sheet.

Vic tweet them hours before the press conference.
Its interesting and would be better if they were leaked early for NSW as people would have time to process before Glady gets up to make excuses

It's almost guaranteed to leak as contacts get an email the night before they talk to their network and by the time everyone wakes its out there.

The more important question is why there is such a focus on case numbers over death numbers/hospitalisations...

(An example) 1300 positive cases. 1211 were vaccinated. However we do have 301 in Hospital. Only 7 are vaccinated 50 are in ICU. 1 was vaccinated 22 are on Ventilators. None were vaccinated We have had 2 deaths. Both were not in hospital care. ................. Don't give ages of people dying. Focus on them not being vaccinated |
