person that can’t even use their real name to remain hidden behind a fake name. I don't use my real name here although most people know who I am. I have never tried to hide who I am and I now regret that. It is safer in these types of environments not to divulge who you are, otherwise you can get stalked and harassed by unhinged members. Some of you will know what I am talking about...

Actually I have personally attacked anyone on this site. But now you have. But to be expected from a weak as piss person that can’t even use their real name to remain hidden behind a fake name. Because you at the end of the day are gutless. Prince who at times we disagree, we still know who he is. As we do with roxii and zed etc.. but you. Weak as piss Does the phrase "<adjectives deleted> Selfish <noun deleted>" ring a bell or is your memory failing as well. You called me that (amongst other things that I've reported to various moderators) numerous times over a period of a month or more (both here and on Transitions) and incited others to do so. And yet you have no idea who I am. Doesn't say much for who you are and what you stand for. I've never hid behind my name. People know who I am and if you havn't worked it out yet then thats your problem.

If he does then we will Have no choice but to send troops and which by the sound of it China may respond. War is crap.

Everyone has an opinion. As I said I don’t agree with what he’s doing, but I understand why he is doing it. Also glad we can now get personal dropbear. Game on. You think you understand why he is doing it.

Thanks @bbevan. I expect China is watching with interest how the West react. If a toothless Tiger I see Taiwan being back under the control of the CCP very soon.

Avoiding the news so haven't heard the latest. China haven’t outright said they support Russia however they abstained from calling them out in the UN but more importantly there then a lifeline of wheat trade to counter the sanctions imposed by others.

Thanks @bbevan . I expect China is watching with interest how the West react. If a toothless Tiger I see Taiwan being back under the control of the CCP very soon. China wins by playing the hand they have now. When they say blocs and refer to NATO, this is also code for alliances closer to Asia Pacific. We are also seeing how the global economy and sanctions have much more impact now than in the past. Yes they want Taiwan back, but it is very heavily armed and much easier to stick some serious amphibious capability on exercises. They will want an agreement or security architecture as they call it, whereby blocs like NATO are if not removed (not going to happen) are seriously curtailed.

China and Russia are BFFs now. China is doing nothing about Ukraine because Russia will do nothing when China move in on Taiwan
Meanwhile Europe has painted itself into a corner by following ridiculous ideology and voluntarily making itself reliant on Russian energy

Gotta wonder what’s going on at the international space station.
Are the worlds countries going to kick Russia off?
The ISS currently hosts six people in addition to Vande Hei: ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer, Nasa astronauts Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn, and Kayla Barron, and two Russian Cosmonauts, Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov.

Some googling
March 18: A Russian Soyuz rocket will launch the crewed Soyuz MS-21 mission to the International Space Station with Russian cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov. It will lift off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 11:55 a.m. EDT (1555 GMT).
Wonder if they might swap someone out for a guy with combat skills

You realise that Russian engines control the ISS right? They switch them off and it falls out of the sky.

Facts 11:52 01.03.2022 No need to declare captured Russian tanks, other equipment of invaders as income – NAPC 2 min read
Ukraine's National Agency for the Protection against Corruption (NAPC) has declared that captured Russian tanks and other equipment are not subject to declaration.
"Have you captured a Russian tank or armored personnel carrier and are worried about how to declare it? Keep calm and continue to defend the Motherland! There is no need to declare the captured Russian tanks and other equipment, because the cost of this ... does not exceed 100 living wages (UAH 248,100)," NAPC's press service said.
Also, there is no need in this case to submit reports of significant changes in property status within 10 days.
"Speaking by the letter of the law, combat trophies are not subject to reflection in the declaration for the following reasons: they were acquired not as a result of the conclusion of any type of transaction, but in connection with the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022 against the independent and sovereign Ukrainian state as a continuation the insidious attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine launched in 2014. Thanks to the courage and victory of the defenders of the Ukrainian state, enemy military equipment usually comes to you already destroyed and disabled, which makes it impossible to evaluate it in accordance with the law On the valuation of property, property rights and professional valuation activities in Ukraine. Therefore, it is also impossible to find out how much such property costs,” the NACP said.
At the same time, the NACP continues to ensure the technical possibility of providing notifications of significant changes in the property status for the acquisition of objects seized from the Russian army, if there is a desire to declare same.

The President in waiting breaks it all down for us: Given the audience it’s for it’s probably still a bit too complicated.

Just confirms my view of how increasingly dumber people are becoming.
Reminds me of Xmas, brother & I were having a nice quiet fish off Culburra Beach. 3 blokes come onto the beach for a swim & lob in 10m away from us, then start wading diagonally in the direction of our lines.
My brother has to go & explain to them that there are 2 sets of large triple gang hooks out there, and if they wade into them, he'll happily reel them in, cut the line & they can take themselves off to hospital to have the hooks extracted.
Dumb as dogsh!t.

Kherson has now fallen, which means there's a land bridge from Crimea.

Kherson has now fallen, which means there's a land bridge from Crimea. I'm wrong on this, it's Mariupol which will create the bridge. The capture of Kherson - located on the banks of the Dnieper River where it flows into the Black Sea - is significant because it could allow Russia to create a base for the military there as it seeks to push further inland.

Kind of a mix between really feeling for the people of Ukraine, hating Putin and apprehension about where this goes next. Thankfully there are large Ukrainian and Polish communities here that are co=ordinating help. The response for donations, both items and £££ has been immense. It's a kind of weird limbo land of 'not really anything we can do' (except donate) to 'WTF is around the corner'. All our Aussie passports are up to date but Mrs FP has just sent for a renewal. TBH, by the time you realise that's a plan you should be executing, it's probably too late.

I was doing the UK passports for the children but haven't sent them. The battles so far have been restrained compared to what they could be. So long as NATO stays out of it this will stay in the Ukraine, but the issue is how hard those sanctions hit and how he takes/responds to that. Stay safe

It's so hard as a parent to look at your kids and think 'are we doing the best for them', it weighs heavy on me. Some analysts are saying he can't afford this war for than a few days more but I have the feeling he's going to send the country right down to bare threads for this cause.

I feel for everyone, mostly the Ukrainians. It did play on my mind when he ramped up the threats. Being closer makes it real, compounded by what we all grew up with in the 70's and 80's, the fear of conflict. Think we were all living very happy that our children would never have to worry about a global war or have to talk about nuclear weapons. It's got to be hurting the economy. Of course he is unlikely to care about the impact on the people, but some of his rich buddies have spoken up and China has softened.
