Well cruises were hammered harder than most in an attempt to get going again. Where are you going? Doing a lap of NZ. Be the first real holiday since we went to USA 3 years ago. So a good opportunity to get away from the mad house thats work. The Koala Bear will get to spend some time with her parents (who will also be on the cruise) but we'll disappear on our own to visit the Hobberton movie set and I'll try and catch up with my nephew in Kaikoura where he lives now.

My brother barely had a sniffle, I'm sweating and shaking like a dog sh!tting razor blades. Hurts to breathe.
Pissed that I got it, heaps of people at work still come in when they're crook as.
7 days of sleep and drinking water.

I just got back from a cruise last Wednesday - out of Brisi. We did hear about one or two during the trip but as far as I know, that was it. They were quarantined to a specific floor on the ship. Only a few wearing masks daily. Hand washing was mandatory prior to eating.
Requirement prior getting onboard and before customs was to supply a photo or letter copy of a covid test taken within 24 hours of sailing. This was checked quite sell. It would have been relatively easy to cheat (but why would you ??). We did hear though that people got Covid a day or two AFTER they got back to Brisi. Maybe a few more kisses and dancing for people on the last night. The nightclub was open until 3am.
However.... the cruise out of Sydney in the last few days has been smashed with covid. We were lucky.

And there are visitors here who have tested positive to a fairly symptom-less strain so have to 'quarantine' here at their govts expense for 2 weeks before flying home under their countries rules, but are free to roam as far and wide as they like in Oz.

I'm back. Although I've heard it said that people are questioning whether Border Force made a mistake by letting me back into the country. 50 covid cases total on our ship with all being quarantined to their cabins as soon as they were identified. Automatic hand sanitiser pumps everywhere with staff permanently stationed outside all the eateries to ensure they were used. Masks were mandatory indoors after about day 4. The Koala Bear and I escaped unscathed but the outlaws both caught some non-covid respiratory tract infection which has laid them low for a week or so now. And in unrelated news....Jetstar successfully managed to get us and our luggage to/from Brisvegas/Syd-ah-nee "on time". Although the flight down changed three times (once to an already cancelled flight) and the flight home had changed (at least) twice.

Sorry so 50 identified. What were they doing? Testing people daily or was it more self reporting?

Sorry so 50 identified. What were they doing? Testing people daily or was it more self reporting? According to those who had been on since Seattle, staff identified those that are "not healthy" and they're requested to do a RAT down in the medical center. BTW: Only free service offered on the ship.

Only the fools have paid the fines it seems. One might suggest they were all fools to get caught in the first place Seems they weren’t fools or in the wrong. The NSW Government will refund 33,000 recipients of Covid fines after two Sydneysiders won a landmark test case in the Supreme Court. In a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, the Commissioner of Fines Administration said he will withdraw two public health order fines. It comes after two Sydneysiders won a landmark test case in the NSW Supreme Court.

Do you really believe this guy was guilty? Especially now that the fine has been thrown out? this wasn’t due to a technicality. It was just wrong in the first place Rohan Pank took his encounter with four police officers in Sydney Park at Alexandria during the height of the city's Covid restrictions all the way to the New South Wales Supreme Court. Mr Pank had been within 1km of his Newtown home when he was told by police he had breached a public health order by not actively exercising and fined $1,000. NSW Health declared 'sitting for relaxation' was considered to be outdoor recreation just days later. Mr Pank was part of a joint action which resulted in two other Sydneysiders having their Covid fines declared invalid on Tuesday. Within hours of the landmark court breakthrough the Commissioner of Fines Administration withdrew 33,121 fines issued in similar cases.

It may or may not be said on the current Tour de Cure Signature ride that's currently happening (refer to Sunrise TV each morning with Mark Baretta) but.... Covid has hit them and a number had to stop. They know where it came from (not a rider). An absolute shame, especially for the first timers who had to stop.
