Here in Mongolia we are up to 80%+ having had at least the 1st shot. To move between provinces and to enter facilities like gyms and night clubs you have to show proof of vaccination. If you are vaccinated you do not have to quarantine when arriving in the country. These type of incentives are driving the vaccination rate upwards. Vaccination is driving the Covid infection rate downwards. Well that is certainly a carrot that would work here. you want to go to Queensland, where's your vax cert? you want to go to the gym or bunnings, where's your cert?

This doesn’t help. Dumb Queensland. No one has died from blood clots in Queensland
yet 7 died from Covid there.

Yeah, we're f'n idiots up here! Maybe they're just not getting people to turn up for AZ, and have given up on it rolling out in any volumes? Not an acceptable excuse, but just a thought!

I actually think we will get to feb 1 and Scomo will just open everything and let the state just deal with it.

Now that she has poked her head up maybe the ATO can have a squizz at her affairs. Home hairdressers are usually equallly good at science and paying taxes.

Pray tell Mr Rox, exactly what is your expertise and experience with hairdressers? Oh hilarious!!! Neighbour is a hairdresser working at home. Still charges salon rates and cash only. Lucky she has three kids, that’s four beds to stash the wads of cash under.

so neither AP or Dr Young have bothered to get vaccinated yet. AP claims she's waiting to get her flu shot next week. However, she was filmed getting her flu shot around 24 April which caused a kerfuffle as the cap was still on the needle according to some viewers (I can't be faffed checking it out). AP tried to deflect by blaming the Federal Government rollout. Dr Young has not given a reason for her "hesitancy" Very much a case of do as I say, not as I do.

Reports of an outbreak at Everest base camp also. That would suck.
And the US is combating the drop in Covid fatalities by ramping up mass shootings to pre pandemic levels.

This is why I wish the media would call AP on her lie. journalists in Australia are so crap

So the whole getting the vaccine booking gets more interesting. My google searches to date have taken me to the Federal government's healthdirect.gov.au website, which has been showing nearest centre is just over an hour away
Tonight, found on the Victorian governments website that there is a centre only 20 minutes away, checked the federal site again and no mention of this centre
FFS people, you're supposed to be working together...

FFS people, you're supposed to be working together... Been saying for ages this is one of our biggest problems. The feds and states should have been working together effectively for over 6 months now. But it's still Argy bargy.

It gets worse, the mother in law is due to travel down from Melbourne tomorrow - if she gets stuck here for 180 days..., it's been nice knowing you all - somebody post bail

I'm amazed that Victoria hasn't been locked down this morning. Active cases has risen to 15, over 300 primary contacts (that they know of) and a growing list of exposure sites, including 2 in regional Vic now. Whisper has it that a fella who plays footy in Epping (and subsequently been exposed apparently) is from Cohuna and has been all of the countryside since the weekend (allegedly) Officials have said next 24 hours is critical, but I can see an announcement coming sooner. Time will tell

With the afl players fleeing, its only A matter of time. Hence why I just got a haircut.
Whilst getting the haircut. An old guy getting his cut next to me said I’d be dead in 6 months because I got the vaccine.
I said he will be dead in 6 Months because he was old and covid only kills old people.
Clearly didn’t go down well.
The 2 barbers were pissing themselves once he left. Said it was the best thing to happen in there for weeks.

Apparently a spectator at a footy match between Cohuna and Tooleybuc on Saturday was Covid positive. No details yet on how it is being handled, but I'd imagine that anyone who attended would need to get tested and isolate, at the very least until they get a negative result, but potentially for 14 days. I think they have Buckleys of having this contained - with Duck Season opening today there is a sh!t ton of people who have travelled into Regional Victoria

Booked in for my first dose of AZ this coming Monday. Picked the start of the week, so if I react badly I can use a few sick days...

I've done the same - with 40+ days of sick leave and a possible job change coming up, might as well get some use out of them Bit of hoarding down this way, we had a van full of a particular ethnicity come into the local Woolies this afternoon, all wearing masks (so assume they are from within Melbourne) and load up shopping trolleys with bulk bags of rice and dunny rolls. Some people don't seem to learn

This spike in cases is a good thing in my opinion. Nsw and Queensland need some cases too to drive people using the excuse of not getting the vaccine because we have no Covid here.
